Ernest Cowden

Lead Pastor

Pastor Cowden was born and raised in and around Fort Worth, Texas. He was baptized at Haltom City Baptist Church in 1986 and obeyed God’s call to preach in 1995. He was ordained and licensed into the ministry in 1998 by New Hope Baptist Church in Boyd, Texas. His first staff position was in 1998 at Midway Baptist Church in Azle, Texas, where he worked with the youth and college class. In 2000 he accepted the call to become New Hope Baptist Church’s youth/associate pastor, and served in that capacity for 17 years. Ernest as been Fairview’s lead pastor since June 2018.

Ernest married his wife, Shelby, in May 2012, and they had their first child, Connor, in April 2018. Ernest enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf with friends, and watching the Texas Longhorns (we at Fairview have chosen to overlook this last character flaw).

Ernest is an passionate preacher of the Gospel and believes men, women, youth, and children flourish when God is glorified.

Nathan Gay

Nathan Gay

Music Minister

Nathan was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma and was raised in a rural farm community east of Shawnee.  He was baptized at Fairview Baptist Church in 1980 and was called to music ministry in 1981. He began serving in music ministry in 1985 as the Pianist at Fairview Baptist Church and served in that capacity for 20 years.  He also served as Interim Music Minister / Pianist at First Baptist Church in Earlsboro, Oklahoma from 2005 to 2008 and Pianist at Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker, Oklahoma from 2008 to 2016 before returning to Fairview as Minister of Music in February of 2016.  

Music has always been an important part of his life as he comes from a family with a variety of musicians. He studied Piano from an early age and began vocal training during his high school years. Since the Minister of Music is a bivocational position at Fairview he works full time as a Community College Professor of Business.  

Nathan married his wife Montez in August 1992. They have three children which include their son Ryan and his wife Gabby, their daughter Sabrina, and their youngest son Aaron. Nathan enjoys time with family, playing the piano, wood working, and working in his yard and garden. Nathan is passionate about music and the ability to use music to worship God both individually and corporately.  His desire is to see God glorified through the Music Ministry and Fairview.
